* THE 2026 EAST CENTRAL KANSAS STATE BBQ CHAMPIONSHIP - August 28th & 29th * This is one of the premier BBQ cook-offs on the KCBS circuit. This year will be our 31st year sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society. Our first KCBS Contest was August 23 & 24, 1996. The contest was Procliamed the East Central Kansas State BBQ Championship (by then) Kansas Govenor Bill Graves. To date we continue to receive our annual Proclamation from the Kansas Govenors Office. The competition will feature maximum of 70 teams smoking up what promises to be some of the best BBQ in the world. The festival features some of the finest music available on the BBQ circuit, as well as plenty of kid’s activities, arts, crafts and food. This years Prestigious KCBS Master Series East Central Kansas State Championship will be judged on Saturday Aug 29. Check-in starts as early as Thursday evening Aug 27th. The BBQ categories are Chicken, Ribs, Pork Butt, Beef Brisket and Sausage.
